The Best "Holidays" Ever

In the older posts I told about my trip to Rio de Janeiro in 2013. That travel wasn´t holidays but was very wonderful and for me it has been the best holidays ever.

I went to Rio for the WYD (World Youth Day) in June, 2013, during winter vacation period. I traveled with 23 friends of the parish where I participate. I stayed 10 days in Rio, were days very exhausting because we had to move, among millions of people that was in WYD, every day to place very far way of our lodging. But all those obstacle weren´t important because the experience lived was amazing. I knew place very beautiful of Rio, for example Copacabana, Ipanema, the Christ the Redeemer, the Cathedral of Sao Paulo, the city of Taquara (where our lodging), between others.

It has been the best holidays ever because I knew a new place (out of Chile); I met a lot of people of other countries that had the same faith; I knew Pope Francisco; I found a new family and I always spoke with them; I ate too much... I lives a wonderful experience.

Despite of tiredness I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH!!!

A country I´d like to visit

I´d like travel too much and to know a lot of places of world. But only once a time I have travel outside Chile, when I was to Rio de Janeiro for JMJ Rio 2013.

I´d like come back to Rio to visit other places of city, because I was to JMJ I couldn´t went to very places because I not had very time for the activities of JMJ.

Now I don’t have a country specific to visit, but I´d love do a “religious tour ”.

First I´d like also visit Holy Land, in Israel and know all the places where stayed Christ. I think that stay there must be an experience wonderful. I want know where was born Christ, where grew with his family, where did his miracles and discourse, where the last dinner, where was his Passion, crucifixion, death and resurrection. The temples raised in that places are very beautiful and reflect the grandeur of God.

Second I´d like visit all the shrine of Virgin Mary, especially Lourdes in French.

And finally I´d like visit Vatican city in Rome.

I hope visit those places someday.   

My dream Job

When I was a child I dreamed to be a teacher. When I was in high school I loved mathematics, since then I wanted a teacher of math. 

But when I decided about what career to choose for the university I only wanted help to society, more poor and especially those that live in the street. I felt that was my responsibilities help them. From that point I decided go into Public Administration because is a one way most direct for help to society and do changes in different areas of country, here I can to learn about policy and understand how operate this government and state. 

This is the reason why I dreaming with a job in the government or a public organization, because I would like create public policies for that the Chilean people can access a good quality of life. Especially I would like work in the Congress as Senator. But this work I would like have it in the distant future, and when I go out of career I would like work in organization dedicated directly with the poor because I think that is not possible that a lot of people haven´t the same opportunity that I have.  

I wrote in a blog

In March When I started the english class I knew that I should write one blog every tuesday. 

I liked when the teacher gave the topics, because when were free topics I took too much time to decide about the topics for to write. And I always forgot write in the publications of my classmates.

Also I liked upload photos and show my experience and how I enjoyed of every situation in my life and especially at university. I also enjoyed read the histories of my classmates.

For me was a experience very good because I was can learn about how to write in a blog, also I learned too much about grammar. I too discover a lot of webpages that the teacher gave for guide us in the writing.

I hope to have developed my skills for writing in english because this is very necesary for me in the currently. I think that I advanced in this, maybe not a lot, but a little also is good.

In the future I would like include a feedback inmediate from the teacher to improve my situation with the english.

I would like to write else about things linked with my career for to learn most about technical topics and vocabulary of this. Also I would like write about topics linked with the currently in Chile like education, family, abortion, reforms, etc.

And this is my last post and I can say that I HAVE AND WROTE IN A BLOG.

My birthday

When I came to University the past year I know two very good friends, they are Sofía and Jana.

Sofía is very nice but this year already don´t stay with us because she left this faculty for start other career in Sociology at University of Chile.

Jana is the girl of the "alfajores" (blog: The world of alfajores). Since that she came always has sold your alfajores and are very delicious, also she make other thing like cupcakes, cakes, and all about bakery. Your cakes in general are VERY DELICIOUS, really she has a special talent.

My birthday is in April 15th, and this year I was 19 years old and Jana makes for my a cake very beautiful and delicious, I don´t hope that gift and I was very happy and surprised. And also my classmates sang me the "happy birthday".

* I like too much the thing of a lot of colours and this cake was perfect for me because was of various colours. 

never say never

I have said too much many times that never I´ll do this or that, but when as each year passes I have found that I have do all that never I thought.

I describe everything that I have said:

1.When I was little I said that never I´ll use high heel shoes because it´s very uncomfortable for walk, but now I love shoes and I buy a lot with high heel.

2. I was younger and I thought that study after of high school, I wasn´t interested in a course about of politics because I thought that not is for me, besides it was a area very boring for me. But how you know I study Public Administration and Politics Science at University of Chile and I love this course because it´s multi-disciplinary and I like all the area of the career, I like to learn about economy, history, philosophy, mathematics, accounting, and all related with the government and the State of Chile.

3. Other thing that I said never, was when I had to change of school for into to high school, I wanted a school mixed, not only of girls. Also I wanted a school that started in first grade of high school because I had very shame arrived a one grade that already was formed. And finally I wanted a high school in which I study a technical career and I have a diploma of high school for after I can to work. And I went Instituto Superior de Comercio Eduardo Frei Montalva which met with al my requirements. But in Fourth grade I change of school and I went to Colegio Los Andes which was only of girls, was a school without a technical career, and I arrived a course that already was formed from pre-school. How the things change!!!!!

There are a lot of other situations in which I said never but now I not talk about that.

Lorenz von Stein was born in Germany in 1815.

He was a german economist, sociologist and public administration.

From 1855 until 1885, von Stein was teacher at University of Vienna. His work is considered as the theoretical basis of the internacional science of public administration. And also he influenced the practice of public finance for improve the public administration in the country.

Nowadays we can study about public administration thanks a the theorical basis of this discipline that Lorenz von Stein made in your time.

I know him because I was searching about the history of the study of public administration for my presentation, and also I found  other expert as Federico Guillermo I of Prusia who instituted the lessons of cameralism, it is seen as the ancestor of the modern study of public administration. I also found Charles Jean Baptiste Bonnin, he is the founder of the worldwide science of public administration.

Always for life!

With time the topic of the abortion has been every time more common until the point of to legalize its in the mayority of the countries. Chile is a of the little countries that still not legalize this practice.

In my opinion the life is the most important and the abortion is a homicide. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 stablish in the article 1 that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, this declaration is universal and all countries of the world are acording with this article. Therefore, why interrupt the pregnancy of a women? Many people to say because the mother is dangerous, because the baby is sick and he not live when he´ll born, because I dont want have a son, because I dont be preparated for have a son, etc, etc ,etc. But which is the reality?

In Chile dont necesary to legalize about the therapeutic abortion because the doctors always search save the life of the mother, if the baby did this become in the natural abortion and don´t necesary interrupt of way artificial the pregnanacy. 

With respecto a one rape, the baby not have to pay for the felony of other person, in this condition is better accompany the mother in the procces and if she not have her son, can to give in adoption.

Finally if the baby is sick and the prediction is that he not live, why kill him before? Is better allow that he born and he live the most possible. 

For that I am always to the LIFE!.

a fan of Lindsay Lohan

One Sunday, some years ago, I saw a film of two twins girls, they didn´t met because their parents were separated, this film was "The Parent Trap" of 1998. I liked too this flim because is very fun, the twins meet in a summer camp, but they did not get along because they know that have the same appearance and during the camp, after of a lots of  fight, they realized that are sisters and twins and since that moment they start to make a plan for join their parents again.

The actress of the film is Lindsay Lohan and she made this film when she was 11 years. Lindsay Lohan is an American actress, model, producer and recording artist.

When I saw that film I became in a fan of Lidsay Lohan and I started to saw all her film. In her film she interpret a girls like in "The Parent TRap", a teenager as in "Confessions of a teenage Drama Queen", young adult like in "Just my luck" and too much other film.

I always wanted to see all her film, but neverreally got it. Also I listened her songs. And I wanted to be as she. I loved Lindsay!!!! I know all her dates personal and other things about she.

Unfortunately she don´t has a good actitud during the last 8 years because she was under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and the drugs and other kind of things.

Now that I am biggest I am not extremely fan of Lindsay, but always I´ll see her film because I like it very much!

A wonderful memory

In my last publication I wrote about my trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the WYD in July 2013 and this photograph was taken one of the days I stayed there.

I don´t remember who took this photograph, but I think that was one of my friends.

Is very important for me because is a memory of this experience wonderful that I lived, also this photograph show things with very meaning for me, those things is: first, in general, the experience of live the WYD with other catholics youngs and the Pope. Second I was with my boyfriend. Third in the back on the picture is the Cathedral Metropolitan of Sao Sebastiao of Rio de Janeiro, has a form as pyramid, the Cathedral is important for me because represent the Catholic Church that is a part of my life. The name of the street where was the Cathedral Av. Chile. Fourth, I went in representation of my Parish and my country and I am very happy of belong to Chile and the flag of Chile always was present in our trip. For all those things I like this photoghrap.

Come back to Rio

In July 2013 was the WYD Rio 2013 (World Youth Day), it was a youth event catholic, where went more of 3 million of young of 175 different country. This event is very important for the Catholic Church because the young can reunite with the Pope who is the vicar of Christ in the earth. The first WYD made in 1985 and was the Pope Jean Paul II who declared its. This event it is realize every two or three year in different city of the world. In 2013 the WYD was realized in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on the month of July and was for 5 days.

With some friend of my parish decided go to WYD and we started in December 2012 to prepare a lots of activities for get together money for the ticket of plane and all the outlay of travel. My groups of trip was of 23 friends, also was my boyfriend.

For me was the first time what I to traveled out of the Chile and that I traveled by plane but was very very very fun. The days of the WYD were very tiring but I enjoyed too much of this experience. I met very people and young of all the world. There a family Brazilian hosted me and also 5 friends more in their house, they were very nice with us.

Also during the days in Brazil I visited differents place of that country. The first day we visited the Cristo Redentor in the hill Corcovado but that day was cloudy and rainy and we not saw the image of Cristo Redentor because the clouds covered the image. Is for this that I want to come back to Rio for visit again the Cristo Redentor and also other place very beautiful of Brazil.

About My favorite piece of technology

I don´t very friend of the objects technology because I think that sometimes are very expensive, but in this moment the most important piece of technology for me is my cellphone.

My cellphone I got it since December 2013, before I had a cellphone less technology, and in December my father buy a cellphone for he, my mom and me. The cellphone went a gift of Christmas for me.

With my cellphone I can talk every day with my boyfriend, my family and my friends for whats-app, this application es every interesting and fun because I can talk with all my contacts although they are very far of me even when they are in other countries. I use my cellphone to listen to music, take a lot to photo and download too much applications that are very useful for me. Also I have always internet and I can search directions and place when I need it. Sometime I use the internet for see the notices that happen in the country and in the world.

I always use my cellphone, is one the thing that always I have in mind before of go out of my house.

If I don´t have cellphone I would feel isolated of the society because I could´t communicate with my family, friends and my boyfriend and neither I know about the notices of the country and the world.

My expectations for a new semester

For this new semester I have various expectations. First I want pass all my subjects at the university, there a subject that is very difficult for me and I hope pass its. Also I want to learn about of every subject because I like too much my course and need learn enough for I become a good professional.

At university I don´t took other subject and free course.

Second I hope make all my activities in the parish and help to the young of my new group of Confirmation to they interesting about topics of Catholic church and also that they enjoy of this process.

Third I hope make with very success my work in IRP and contribute to that the young going to take attention about topics public of the country. Also add every time more person to defend the dignity of human person.

I wishes that this semester and this year it is very good for all, for the country, my family, my friends and my partners.

  

About me

Hi, My name is María Catalina Rojas,  I´m 18 years old and I live in Pudahuel.

I was born in April 15th , 1995 in the city of Santiago from Chile.

In my family are 4 members, my father, my mother, my sister and I. My sister is more big that me, she is 30 years old. But in my house also live my cousins, they are from Curicó, but they study in Santiago. Thus in my house are 6 person. I have a relationship of more of one year, he is Jorge.

I studied at school Geronimo de Alderete in Pudahuel since 2000 to 2008. In this school did preschool through eighth grade. Then I studied at Instituto Superior de Comercio Eduardo Frei Montalva, in this intitute I did high school but only until third year. In the fourth year, I went to other school, this was Colegio Los Andes in Vitacura, that experience was very fun.

Now I study Public Administratio at Escuela de Gobierno y Gestion Pública at Universidad de Chile. I am in second year of university. I love my course.

In 2008 I started to participate in the Parish "Santa María del Sur" in Pudahuel. In the parish,  I prepared the young for their Confirmation and the children for their First Comunion. This year I´ll start  with a new group of young for Confirmation. Also in the parish I met my boyfriend.

I work in Instituto Res Publica, is a institute of studies dedicated analyze of topics public focused on the respect of the liberty and dignity of the human person.

In my free time, I like knit. I made sweater, gloves, wool hat and other thing. Also I like go to the Cerro San Cristobal for do sport and also I love go to visit the Virgin María on the summit.
